TRUNK ARCHIVE is a boutique agency based in New York City that represents the archives of the world's leading fashion, celebrity, still life and landscape photographers. Every artist on their roster is acknowledged as being among the very best in his / her genre. To highlight the impressive diversity of images available at TRUNK ARCHIVE we have selected a group of amazing artists to feature in this launch collection.
Mika Ninagawa is one of Japan's most renowned and prolific photographers. Her subjects include flowers, goldfish and portraits of stars from Japanese pop culture. Her aesthetic is fantastical, colorful and rich in tonality. Ms. Ninagawa's spectacular technicolor photographs have become her international trademark. She presents each of her images with a breath-taking vibrancy. Brilliantly illuminated, they stand out like dazzling jewels. Intense neon colors amplify her usual palette of pink, green, red, blue and orange.
Mika Ninagawa has published over 35 photography books, collaborated with the musicians Björk and Alicia Keys and made her directorial debut in 2007 with the feature film "Sakuran.” Her retrospective "Mika Ninagawa: Earthly Flower, Heavenly Colors" at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in 2010 was the highest ever attended photography exhibition held in Japan. Ms. Ninagawa's work is included in numerous museum and private collections.
